These beautiful handcrafted cards are made by a women's group located in the Republic of South Africa's Western Cape Province. Each card is uniquely crafted using a variety of media including such items as  wood, feathers, beads, cloth, metal and bone.These cards are purchased as items which are then inscribed with a personal note and mailed to friends, or given as gifts. However, frequently they are matted and framed by the purchaser. This of course changes the item from a handcrafted card, to a displayed mixed-media art form.
